The Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, (“LHWCA”) provides certain work-related benefits to dockworkers and other maritime workers, while undergoing medical treatment or after an injury. Injured workers are classified under four categories when determining reasonable and necessary benefits under LHWCA: 


 Temporary Total 
 Temporary Partial 
 Permanent Total 
 Permanent Partial

The main individuals qualified to gather advantages under DOHSA are the surviving companion, youngsters or ward relatives. Harms are restricted to financial harms that can be demonstrated through bookkeeping proof, for example:
